Framing for the wings or the extensions which protrude over the sides of the truck bed.

Building the Tub

The tub or base of the camper is the part which will slide into the bed of the truck. the floor is 1” foamboard insulation sandwiched between sheets of 1/4” plywood and secured with Titebond II glue and screws.

The walls of the tub are 1/2” plywood

I am building it in my garage so I have to plan and measure carefully so it won’t be too tall to remove it.

My Truck Camper Build

 This blog will document my construction of a slide-in truck camper. I am drawn to the concept of a small camper on a pickup truck that can easily be stealth camped or parked in a parking space without the necessity of  paying a fee at a campground, although that is always an option too.

I was inspired by Dave Mason who publishes a site on YouTube called Endgame Campers. He does not publish building plans, but he does make videos of his build with lots of information.
